Dredging the St Lawrence

Good morning it is 9:40 Tuesday July 12. Before we get to our story of Portneuf I wanted to show you one of only two dredgers we have seen. Almost all of our trip since Iroquois has been in a dredged channel. It has surprised me that we did not see more dredging. This one was before Portneuf and the other just this morning east of Portneuf.

We are currently, no pun intended, in slot of tidal current. The motor is at 1100 rpm and we are doing 8.6 knots. This is 11 kns west of The Yacht Club of Quebec. It is very over castes but we have 2 or 3 miles of visibility. Our trip has been great but is about to get exciting. We are less then 10 miles from Quebec City. By the way without touching the motor we are now at 9.1 knots.
