This is for you Kennedy

You wanted a picture of a seal and you grandfather got you one. They are very difficult to capture on film. Nana and I love all of you, Nicole,Parker, Quinn and Kennedy. See you in a month. We are sort of headed home now.

Beluga!!!

We had seen some Belugas but could not get a picture. On the way out of The Saguenay we had almost given up and were about ready to head into Tadoussac when we saw them coming. Over a period of about 15 minutes we saw 20 to 30. More later we are currently sailing up river at 8.3 knots going to Cap a l'Aigle.

Why only 5 bouys

We have been told by a number of people that there are suppose to be 12 or 13, but for some unexplained reason there are only 5.

The rock face of Baie Eternite.

All the way up I was concerned about what we would do if there was no mooring bouy. I decided we would have to go back to St Jean. It would not be so bad we would have the 15 knots to ride, but we would have to beat the flood tide. That meant if the buoy was not free we would take pictures and "Get out of Dodge immediately". We were in luck 5 bouts and 4 sailboats.

Baie Eternite

We had a rough ride with 15 or so knots on the nose and a little residual ebb tide. It took about 2 hours to go 8 knots, but as you can see it is worth it. This is the entrance to Baie Eternite. The rock face is actually much higher then it appears in the picture. I think I have been told about 2000 peids. I have to stop talking now so as I can show you more pictures.

Another Silver Lining

Last night we had dinner in the local restaurant. The dinner was wonderful, but as we were finishing the pretty good day was disintegrating. It was looking like rain. We just got back to the boat and it started slowly. Then the thunder and lightening. Followed by wind say about 30 to 35 knots. The wind was follower by the waves which really rocked all the boats at Club Nautique Anse-Saint-Jean. The rain was as heavy as we have had except for the rocking we were fine. This morning I got up to see the rain had created this water falls which if it existed at all yesterday could not be seen. Today we are off to Baie Eternite.
